Get to know Lynn Hughes

My family moved to Las Vegas when I was a child, and I grew up along with Las Vegas.   This used to be a much smaller city back in the day.  I attended grade school, middle and high school in Las Vegas, and went to UNLV for my Bachelors degree during the Tark years.  I finally had to go away to Indiana University School of Law, Indianapolis, since the law school here was not opened yet.

I returned to Las Vegas after school to start my legal career.  I also raised my four children here in Las Vegas, sending them through the Clark County school system.  Las Vegas is my home and I really enjoy this town. And being part of this community.

I have been an attorney in Las Vegas for 23 years.  I have limited my practice to family law, guardianship, probates, estates, helping clients in anyway I can.  I have been a pro-tem judge in Clark County for 18 years.  This includes adult and minor guardianships, abuse/neglect, civil commitments, small claims and traffic courts.  I have learned how to handle cases as a judge and help litigants.

I was appointed to the Permanent Guardianship Commission by the Nevada Supreme Court.  The Commission is designed to address the issues and problems that arose in Guardianship in the state.  I am part of the rules subcommittee for the Commission, preparing drafts of rules for the State of Nevada in an attempt to make guardianship Court more universal in the application of the law.  I am proud to have been part of bringing solutions to the guardianship system in Nevada.

I have gained a wealth of experience in my practice, from the judicial time, and from my serving on the commission.  I am the best candidate for Department M, and seek your vote.
